The story behind the artwork

This design comes from my extended painted canvas study of the Blue Jean Tanager - a beautiful blue songbird from Trinidad, where my mother is from. These gentle birds feed mainly on fruits and are known for their uplifting colour and symbolic meaning: hope, new beginnings, and connection to our ancestors.
