The story behind the artwork

This artwork comes from my extended painted canvas study of the Blue Jean Tanager - a vibrant little songbird native to Trinidad and much of Central and South America. These birds live mainly on fruits and are often seen darting among the trees in flashes of blue. They are said to represent hope, new beginnings, and connection to our ancestors.
