The story behind the artwork

I sketched this cockatoo as part of a wider exploration into birds with strong personalities and expressive presence. Their intelligence, curiosity, and spirit inspired me, and I wanted to capture that moment of quiet poise when they sit still, watching the world. The Cockatoo Plate forms part of my BirdLife Collection, created to celebrate birdlife and raise awareness for species that need more understanding and protection.
