The story behind the artwork

I was inspired to draw the Sarus Crane because of its striking height, elegant posture, and deep symbolic presence. As the tallest flying bird in the world, yet one facing serious habitat loss and population decline, it felt important to honour both its beauty and its vulnerability. This illustration forms part of my BirdLife Collection, created to celebrate birdlife and encourage awareness of species at risk.
