The story behind the artwork

I created this illustration inspired by the quiet grace and striking presence of the Sarus Crane. As the tallest flying bird in the world and a species facing significant conservation challenges, the Sarus Crane holds a special place within the BirdLife Collection. I wanted to capture its peaceful stance and dignified form - a reminder of both its beauty and its vulnerability.
